How to make a fountain in the garden

Hey there friends,

Again for the lovers of DIY, this is my latest project. You can build a fountain from whatever you want, you'll just
need a little creativity and technical skills of course.

Materials:

10 queen bricks 10sm wide
PVA adhesive
pump at a rate of 1 metre height
pipe spout / optional /

So let's get started. Take every brick and process it with a chisel and hammer and strive to achieve the effect of stone. / look at the picture /

After we shaped the bricks, already starting to join them together with adhesive. For the bricks who stand for transversely cascade water and put reinforcement iron. Does not necessarily make the same shape. Get creative and invent your own form of the fountain. You can excavate the bricks and make flower beds. The advantage of a queen bricks is that can be modeled as you want. SUPER !!! So far we have a built the basis and now is time to start with the creative part to paint the fountain. Before you start to paint you must primed with PVA adhesive. Then paint and dry out paint again primed with adhesive. Very well!
Comes the testing of water. Pre-route as hose from the pump to the spout is time to work. plug into the socket. Great run but water go a little haywire. Level the fountain and now everything is Ok.
CONGRATULATIONS! You have a fountain that works. Remember that, this is a unique fountain that you will not find in the major stores made in China:)

How to make a study desktop for your children’s room.

Hello. As I have already promised to you I want to show you how to make an additional kids room furniture to the book shelf I have showed you in my previous post.

Materials:
  • 2xFlat wooden panels 1.20x2.40 (choose the colour yourself)
  • Edging Tape for the sides of the panels
  • Metal brackets bended at 90 degrees
  • Screws
  • Batteries Lights
  • Laths x 2 / 2sm x 4sm
Now my dear friends I am going to show you how to make a study desktop for your kids without too much of an effort. The effect you will get from the light spreading underneath of the panel is quite good. When you buying the Panels ask for them to be cut on 0.60sm.This is the width of the panel and the desktop legs. In most cases height of 0.80 sm is good enough, but again feels free to adjust the height to your requirements. If the 2 sides of desktop is to be situated between 2 walls, take the laths and fix them on the wall with appropriate screws.
In the next step you will use the edging tape. Please cut the edging tape along the length of the on 0.10 sm and stick it underneath of the panel. The edging tape is installed with using the metal brackets on angle of 90 degrees. Please don’t drill in to desktop visible part. Drill from beneath in to the non-displayed part of the panel.
After that on the back end of the Panel you can place the battery lights with previously purchased silicon.
Your kids will be quite happy with the new addition to their room and probably will start coming up better grades school if they haven’t done this already. Let alone what the new Desktop can do for your credibility. Simply wonders.
So far so good folks, but we still don’t have any legs for the desktop. You can come up with the shape yourself and use the reminder of the material. You can use wood cutting tool of your choice for that purpose.
Next step is to stick the desktop on the 2 laths which already have installed between the walls.

Then use the metal brackets to fix the wooden legs underneath of the desktop. Don’t forget to use couple of the screws for fixing the panel to the laths. Place the screws from beneath the desktop. Hurrahs!!! Now you have a great study desktop and kids will be delighted with daddy DIY skills.

Good luck

How to make a bookshelf for our kid’s room.

Hello again my dear friends and DIY enthuses. Today I am going to share with you how to make Book shelf for the kid’s room.

 We need the following:

 Wooden boards x 2 / 1,20 x 2,40
1 Box of wood screws
 White plugs screw heads
 Metal brackets for the shelves
 Banding strip

I am highly recommending you get the boards cut in the shop if possible on a width of 0,20 sm. When it comes to the positioning of the shelves use your imagination and position in the way you feel comfortable.
Again I would recommend you take the measurement of the wall and draw a draft of how the book shelves should look like when complete. I have always done it this way and I am quite happy with this practice and outcome.
When you buying a flat pack furniture you will find out in the instructions that you are to put together few different parts. In our case this will be done in a different way. We will start the assembly from left to right in as you will be positioning the shelves in chess type configuration. Please see the picture below.
On the two sides of the boards you will be drilling in for the holes in which you stick the metal holders where you lay down the shelves. When you finish with the first roll you need to add the second long board and start again.
You can use the screws for fortification of the whole assembly. Use the white plugs so you can cover the screw heads. Next step is to use the banding and cover the cut side of the board. You can use an iron for the banding.
So this is it. It is not that difficult and you can have book shelve for the kid’s room in couple of hours. Again use your imagination for positioning of the shelves.
In my next post I will show you how to make a study desktop with hidden light underneath of it.

Good luck.

How to make the old umbrella dryer an outdoor umbrella.

Hello friends,

Summer is here whit it’s hot and rainy days, however the DIY Man has solution for all surprises that summer holdsJ. Today I am going to show you how to make an autdoor umbrella from your old umbrella dryer.

Materials needed:
- Old drier.
- Metal button screws.
- Oilcloth/ Cover.
- Hot silicon gun.

If you have an old dryer that is worn out or have been replaced with a new one, now is the time to give it a new life.
In general dryers are inverse umbrellas, though upside down, but in our case we will convert it into a large and beautiful garden shade.
First you need to cut the top, slid the whole mechanism and turn it upside down.
Then, screws the upper gripper ring still to the tube in order to let the lower ring to move up and down and to be able to open and close the umbrella. GOOD!
Now when you have the umbrella skeleton is time to attach the slickerto the frame with the buttonsscrews, but first cut four accurate size triangles from the fabric. They need to be screwed to the four metal arms overhead, then for a better finishuse hot siliconto glue all corners and make sure that the umbrella won’t leak.
To test for leaking pore over a water…..just in case :).
When you are finished you can sit under the umbrella with a cold beer and enjoy the weather :).

Good luck!

How to make bird feeder

Hi Guys,

Today I am going to show you how to make bird feeder. The idea I borrowed from an image that I saw on internet, so I decide to give it a try and as it turn out to be a success I decided to share it with you.

The materials:

- Plastic bottle or jar.
- Two wooden spoons.
- Piece of garden hose
- Small chain.
- Hot silicone gun.
- Bird Food.

First you need to cut two holes into the bottle/ jar, the same size as the slimmest part of the spoon.  Directly opposite from the first two cut another two holes, slightly bigger (see image).
Next you need to cut two pieces of the rubber hose, rip them in half and stuff them into the slots, as shown on the picture.  I did this in order to make it safer for the birds. To attach the hose to the bottle I used hot silicon in order to prevent it from falling apart.
When you are done with this, take the spoons and tuck them into the holes. Good for you :)!
Next you need to drill a small hole in the top of the cap of the bottle insert the chain. This will be the hanger for your bird feeder. Congratulations, you have done a good jobJ!
Poor in seeds screw the cap and hang your feeder in an appropriate place.
The birds will sing and enjoy the nice feeder.

And again, don’t hesitate to ask me if there is any questions.

Regards

The DIY Man
